Skills Bootcamps provide free flexible training, giving you the opportunity to build up highly in-demand skills in the music industry.
On this journey with you will be like-minded creative professionals. Together you can share experiences and advice, as well coming together to form creative teams for meaningful projects.
Our industry-first approach is built around identifying the latest skills needs and gaps in the creative sector - and adjusting our learning journeys and wraparound support to suit.
You will be learning from experts at Launchpad, who have experience ranging from managing labels, merchandising and music video production to international touring and involvement at major festivals.
Throughout the bootcamp, you’ll explore brand, image and marketing and gain an understanding of publishing and income streams for digital and physical releases. You’ll also be challenged to develop disruptive responses to the key issues facing the music business right now. When working on projects, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with other professionals in the industry.

From arts funding to business start-up, there is a lot of support out there for creative endeavours, with this a priority within West Yorkshire. Gain an oversight into funding and opportunities to support music organisations, as well as best practice in structuring a variety of music businesses.
This Skills Bootcamp is delivered by Launchpad, with a team with experience of managing campaigns and delivering music industry based content for over 10 years. - supported by specialists involved in managing campaigns for massive artists, international media companies and working with a range of stakeholders from DSPs, major labels, press, festivals and more.
You will have group video calls, live online classes, personal feedback and emotional support from a team of people invested in your success.
I am a producer, mix engineer, sound designer and songwriter. I have worked in the music industry for 25 years and I am the director of independent label and podcaster SUBTXT. He is also director of 4 and North Publishing, which represent songwriters who have co-written with 50 Cent, Timmy Trumpet and Judge Jules.
I am a music creator, sound designer and project producer, with 15 years of experience in the creative industries. Some highlights from my career include - performing at SXSW to supporting The Pixies; producing sets for a Nicki Minaj music video to theatre shows at The Barbican; fundraising, booking and self-releasing music as Magick Mountain.
I am the founder & director of Music Local and Senior Lecturer in Music at Leeds Beckett University. I am responsible for delivering the Yorkshire-wide talent development program Launchpad, establishing Music:Leeds as a vehicle to support the local music sector, advocating for regional music support across Yorkshire.
